Hunt us down in the woods, parks, creeks, beaches, rivers, seas and meadows of Devon
The first of many sunny days in Woodland Wood. We spent the day with year one students learning about the tree buds, leaves, flowers and seeds.
We found lots of signs that spring is on its way. With only 17 days left until Spring equinox we found plenty of signs that the sun is visiting us a little longer every day. Whilst identifying different winter tree buds, rummaging about on the forest floor among the crisp beech leaves and hunting the few neglected hazel nuts we also found freshly uncurling elder, sycamore and hawthorn leaves as well as stunning cherry and blackthorn blossom.
At the end of the session everyone had smiley faces and muddy boots- the perfect end to the day!
