Seeking butterflies under the baking sun

Today we spotted speckled woods dancing in the woodland glades and meadow whites cruising over the wildflower meadow. Taking this as inspiration we collecting petals from buttercups, willow herb, speedwells and hawthorn to create our own stained glass butterflies to hang in our windows at home. Journeying down to the picnic site we hunted for frogs and dormice before devouring a well deserved feast. Storytelling and hedgehog creating were then followed by obligatory marshmallow toasting washed down with hot chocolate!
