Learning how to incorporate Maths in outdoor learning and bring the seashore to the classroom

We had a very successful Natural Connections meeting last night with a host of Plymouth schools. Led by Beechwood staff team we had the opportunity to access great Maths in the Outdoors resources and see how their teachers regularly incorporate Maths into outdoor learning. The school makes the most of their excellent outdoor resources to do this including using maths mastery to estimate the number of spines on their resident hedgehogs! We then had the pleasure of Jack Sewell from The Marine Biological Association to share his knowledge and resources from his experience teaching all things marine. The plan is that we will be supporting teachers to use this knowledge over the next term as part of their outdoor learning plans.
